December 05, (THEWILL) – Max Air has revealed the reason behind the air return of its Flight VM1623, with registration number 5N-BBM, to Maiduguri International Airport on Wednesday.
The airline explained that the aircraft experienced an abnormality in its engine parameters during ascent, prompting the captain to initiate a precautionary air return.
In line with Standard Operational Procedures, the affected engine was shut down, and the plane landed safely at Maiduguri International Airport.
In a statement released on Thursday, the airline confirmed that all passengers and crew members onboard were unharmed during the incident.
The statement read, “Flight VM1623 with registration Number 5N-BBM made an air return due to an observed abnormality in the engine parameters during ascent, prompting the captain to initiate an air return to Maiduguri International Airport.
“Following Standard Operational Procedures, the affected engine was shut down, and the aircraft landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.”
Max Air also disclosed that a rescue aircraft was immediately dispatched to Maiduguri to transport the passengers to their destinations with minimal delay.
“In line with Max Air’s commitment to passenger safety and comfort, a rescue aircraft was promptly dispatched to Maiduguri to ensure passengers reached their destinations with minimal delay.
“We deeply regret any inconvenience caused and sincerely appreciate the patience and cooperation of all affected passengers,” the statement added.
The airline emphasised its collaboration with aviation authorities to investigate the cause of the engine anomaly.
