November 19, (THEWILL) – Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has approved the immediate implementation of the new N70,000 minimum wage for all administrative staff under the FCT Administration (FCTA).

Press Secretary to the Head of the Civil Service of the FCT, Anthony Odeh, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, said the Minister approved the payment of the minimum wage on Monday, November 18, 2024, “to ameliorate the plight of workers under the employ of the Federal Capital Territory Administration.”

The Acting Head of the Civil Service of the FCT, Mrs Grace Adayilo, said Wike also approved the payment of three months’ arrears for all staff of the administration, effective from November 2024.

“This gesture will further motivate the entire administration staff to support the minister in continuing to deliver on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda”, Adayilo said.
