May 11, (THEWILL) – Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has announced that work will resume next month on the long-abandoned Osun House project located in the Central Business District of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
The resumption of work follows the formal termination of the over 13-year-old contract by the state government. Governor Adeleke disclosed that the state Ministry of Works and Infrastructure has been directed to mobilise to site without delay.
The governor, who made this known after a discreet inspection of the project, expressed satisfaction that all contractual issues that had stalled progress on the building have now been fully resolved.
“In line with our administration’s policy to complete all inherited projects, we have cleared the outstanding bottlenecks, and the Ministry of Works is set to commence completion work next month,” Adeleke said.
He emphasised the importance of the project to the state and urged the ministry to prioritise and fast-track construction efforts.
“A project abandoned for 12 years by the time we assumed office in 2022 deserves urgent attention. Our administration is committed to completing the Osun House project, which was initiated and nearly completed by former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola,” he added.
Governor Adeleke said the state government had, since 2023, painstakingly resolved contractual disputes surrounding the project and is now positioned to deliver on the investment.
“I can assure the people of Osun that the coast is clear. Osun will soon begin to reap the benefits of this critical investment,” he said.
