2019 Elections: Senate Approves N53bn ‎For ONSA, Security Agencies

SAN FRANCISCO, October 16, (THEWILL) – The Senate has approved a total sum of N53bn ‎for the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSS) and security agencies to supervise the 2019 general elections.

Other beneficiaries are the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Police Force, and the Nigerian Immigration Service.

The approval followed the recommendations by the Senate Committee on Appropriations, whose report on the budget was adopted at the plenary on Tuesday.

THEWILL recalls that the Senate had, last week, approved N189bn for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct ‎the elections.
