February 21, (THEWILL) – The Labour Party House of Representatives candidate for Okigwe North Federal Constituency, Hon. Chikwem Onuoha, has been endorsed by media practitioners.

In his speech, the Chairman of Mbano Journalists Association, Comrade Kelechi Uzomah, said they decided to take a step towards liberating their people from bad representation.

“Okigwe zone has been under-represented, people of the zone have taken a stand to ensure that they take harmony, peace and unity to the area.

“We are stakeholders in the Okigwe North, therefore, we cannot allow our people to continue to be marginalised.

“Onuoha is a man that is not known negatively, with Chikwem Onuoha, our voice would be heard in the national Assembly”, he said.

Speaking, Chidiebube Okeoma, said that he would remain perpetually indebted to to Hon Onuoha for training him in the University.

He described the candidate as a God-fearing and humble man that would not keep silent in the National Assembly, saying that he would offer effective representation.

Hon. Chikwem Onuoha recalled that few days ago, he was there to address people of the area when a programme was organised.

“Okigwe North is in desperate need of development, infrastructures. Nothing is working in the three Local Government Areas that make up Okigwe”, he said.

In some communities he mentioned, the Labour Party candidate regretted that roads in the Federal Constituency had been abandoned by the present representative.

He thanked Journalists for finding him him worthy to be endorsed, promising to bring Electricity, good road network, offer jobs to the youths, provide social amenities and other goodies to the constituents.

He said he is capable; and has an integrity, saying he is not going to give an excuse to his people, adding that he would lobby to chair a committee in the green Chambers.

“I shall not be found wanting in that House, I shall not put you to shame, I would lobby for appointment for the people. I know how to use contact very well”, he assured.

In their resolution, the group noted that the candidate has distinguished himself as a responsible leader, hence his adoption.

“He is a proven, tested and trusted son of Okigwe zone, he is competent, exposed, humble, a mentor and leader.”

The meeting, which was held at the City Cheff, Owerri, on Monday, had in attendance members of his campaign organisation.
