January 19, (THEWILL) – In a shocking tale of betrayal and neglect, a seven-year-old girl, Success Oparaji, has become the victim of abuse, leaving her family and the Aboh Mbaise community of Imo State in anguish and disbelief.
In August, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chibuzor and Kelechi Oparaji, entrusted their daughter to one Mrs. Chiamaka in Owerri, with promises of better opportunities and education.
Facilitated by a middlewoman, Mrs. Ugochi, the arrangement was meant to secure a brighter future for Success, who was a Primary 3 pupil at Town School, Ibeku, Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area.
However, the arrangement took a dark turn. Success recounted that after a short stay, Mrs. Chiamaka abandoned her at Mrs. Ugochi’s home in her absence, leaving the child completely unattended.
Stranded and confused, Success eventually wandered to Afor Ibeku Market Square, searching for her siblings.
When she was found, Success bore visible scars of abuse and neglect.
Bruises covered her small frame, reflecting the ordeal she endured.
Her heartbroken mother, Mrs. Kelechi Oparaji, is demanding justice for her daughter, whose life was shattered under the guise of receiving help.
Mrs. Oparaji said, “This is unimaginable
“My daughter trusted them, and they betrayed her. We need justice for the pain they caused her.”
