BEVERLY HILLS, September 28, (THEWILL) – THEWILL has gathered that a Pilot, Sqn Ldr MB Baba-Ari, died while trying to eject himself from the aircraft following a colilision of the two F7-Ni fighter Aircraft in Abuja
However two other pilots involved in the mishap Sqn Ldr Abatuba and Flt Lt Ambi were able to eject themselves without coming to any harm.
THEWILL recalls that the collision occurred on Friday during the Independence day parade rehearsal.
NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola explained the incident in a statement.
“I wish to confirm an air incident involving two Nigerian Air Force aircraft taking part in the rehearsals for the 58th Independence Day Celebrations.
“Thankfully no lives were lost. Details will be communicated later. Thank you,” he had said confirming the crash.
