December 16, (THEWILL) — The ADC Movement for a New Nigeria has announced the suspension of its planned protest at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja.
The decision, the Movement said, followed the timely intervention and counsel of the party leadership, whose guidance it respects and upholds in the interest of unity, peace, and democratic responsibility.
THEWILL reports that the ADC Movement had scheduled the protest over alleged clampdowns on its members by the anti-graft agency, which it claimed were intended to weaken the opposition party.
In a statement signed by its Deputy National Chairman and Northern Chairman, Bello Isah Bature, the Movement tendered an unreserved apology to the party leadership, relevant authorities, and the general public for any concern or inconvenience the planned protest might have caused.
The Movement reaffirmed its full confidence in the party leadership and expressed respect for the judiciary, stressing its belief that all outstanding issues would be addressed through due process and within the bounds of the law.
It further reiterated its commitment to peaceful engagement, internal party mechanisms, and lawful democratic advocacy, calling on members and supporters to remain calm, disciplined, and law-abiding.
The ADC Movement assured that it would continue to pursue justice and accountability through appropriate legal and institutional channels, noting that constructive dialogue and respect for democratic institutions remain central to its vision for a new Nigeria.
