March 15, (THEWILL) — The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has fixed April 14, 2026, for its National Convention as the party begins a series of congresses nationwide to renew its leadership structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
A statement jointly signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Prince Chinwdu Idigo, and National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the process will commence with ward congresses on April 7, followed by local government and state congresses, culminating in the National Convention.
According to the statement, the activities form part of the party’s constitutional responsibility to renew its leadership structures at all levels of the organisation, beginning from the polling units and wards through the local government and state levels.
The party disclosed that polling units and ward congresses will hold on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, while Local Government Area Congresses are scheduled for Thursday, April 9. State congresses will follow on Saturday, April 11, with the process culminating in the National Convention on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
ADC advised members interested in contesting for any vacant positions at the ward, local government or state levels to obtain, download, complete, and submit the relevant nomination or expression of interest forms through its official platform.

The party urged members across the country to participate actively in the process and conduct themselves in line with the constitution, guidelines, and democratic values of the African Democratic Congress.
