BEVERLY HILLS, CA, June 23, (THEWILL) – The Boko Haram has abducted at least 60 women from Kummabza village in Damboa local government area of Borno State.
THEWILL gathered that the women were taken between Thursday and Sunday last week.
Sources in Damboa said suspected members of the Boko Haram who invaded the town also killed over 30 men during the attack.
The Secretary to the local government area, Modu Mustapha who spoke to journalists said he was not authorized to speak on the matter.
Several calls to the military command in Borno were not acknowledged.
Also, another source in Askira/Uba local government area of the state has disclosed that the Boko Haram seized several women and children from towns in the area.
The source who asked not be identified in this report said: “From Gurdlagwal to Yafa village, Boko Haram killed three men and pack many children and women away.”
The source however said one of the abducted women managed to escape from the Boko Haram.
Askira/Uba local government area of Borno state shares a border with Chibok local government area.
Recall that the Boko Haram seized over 220 schoolgirls from their hostels in a Chibok school in April.
The terrorist group is opposed to education for women.
