…Attack PDP Office, Loot Bank
BEVERLY HILLS, November 04, (THEWILL) – Coming about a week after Boko Haram gunmen unleashed havoc on a bus station in Gombe, the insurgents, again on Tuesday, rocked the state, engaging security operatives at a military check point in Nafada in a hot battle before moving into the town to loot a bank and the local headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Local sources in the town which shares a common border with neighbouring Yobe State, told THEWILL that the insurgents came in a convoy of vehicles and motorcycles as they deployed grenade launchers and other sophisticated equipment in sending the security operatives on their toes.
A local resident , Abubakar Galda, said the terrorists kept on shouting Allahu Akbar (God is greater) as they overpowered the military and police at the checkpoint on their way to the town.
According to Galda, the gunmen on arrival at the town “blew up a police station with rocket propelled grenades,” and also robbed a bank .
However, the police in Gombe, the state capital, could not confirm the attack when filing this story.
