March 23, (THEWILL) — Air Peace Limited has dismissed reports alleging that its Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Allen Ifechukwu Onyema, and Vice Chairman, Alice Ojochide Onyema, are facing a tax suit by the Lagos State Government, insisting that no court summons or official notification has been received by the airline or its principal officers.

In an official statement issued on Monday, the airline said it was unaware of any legal proceedings, expressing surprise over claims that a suit had been ongoing since February without proper service.

Air Peace maintained that all personal and corporate tax obligations of the Onyemas, as well as those of the company, have been fully met in line with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.

The airline described the report as “shocking,” noting that due process requires that parties be formally notified of any legal action, which it said has not occurred in this instance.

“However, if there is any discrepancy in the computation of taxes, the Onyemas and Air Peace remain open to engaging the Lagos State Government to review and reconcile any shortfalls in the interest of transparency, clarity, and due process,” the statement added.

The carrier reiterated its commitment to the growth of Nigeria’s aviation sector, highlighting what it described as years of integrity, resilience, and patriotism demonstrated by its leadership.

Air Peace further assured stakeholders and the flying public that it remains focused on delivering safe and efficient services, stressing that it would not be distracted by what it termed unsubstantiated claims.
