March 27, (THEWILL) – Leading West African airline, Air Peace, has successfully transported over 136,661 passengers on its Lagos-London route, completing 662 flights since it resumed operations on the corridor on March 30, 2024.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the airline’s Head of Corporate Communications, Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, described the milestone as a testament to Air Peace’s commitment to expanding Nigeria’s international aviation footprint.
The achievement not only reinforces Air Peace’s growing presence in the European market but also marks a significant boost for Nigerian aviation, offering competitive fares, world-class service, and a premium travel experience aboard its Boeing 777 aircraft.
Speaking on the milestone, Chairman and CEO of Air Peace, Dr. Allen Onyema, expressed pride in the airline’s rapid growth on the Lagos-London route.
He stated, “The launch of this route was a historic moment for Air Peace and Nigerian aviation. One year later, we have not only sustained operations but also thrived, delivering top-tier service, expanding passenger benefits, and contributing to the Nigerian economy. This success reaffirms our vision of making international travel more accessible and affordable for Nigerians.”
Dr. Onyema further emphasized the need for national support in sustaining the airline’s operations on the London route, urging Nigerians to rally behind the indigenous carrier.
Air Peace’s expansion into the UK market has significantly impacted Nigeria’s aviation sector and economy, creating jobs, boosting tourism and business travel, and reducing reliance on foreign carriers. The airline’s presence has also introduced healthy competition, leading to better fares and improved services for travelers.
As part of its long-term strategy, Air Peace plans to expand its global reach with additional long-haul routes and enhanced services to further strengthen Nigeria’s position in international air travel.
