SAN FRANCISCO, December 18, (THEWILL) –Â The top three nominees for all the seven categories of the Aiteo CAF Awards 2017 were unveiled on Monday in Accra, Ghana.
Nigeria got four places in the nominations, with Super Eagles Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr and Super Falcons star forward Asisat Oshoala being among those for the individual awards.
While Rohr got the nomination for the Coach of the Year Award, Oshoala was among the top three in the Woman Player of the Year Award.
However, Nigerian wingback Victor Moses failed to make the top three nominees of the 2017 CAF footballer of the year award in the men’s category.
The three finalists are Egypt’s Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane of Senegal and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Gabon.
Nigeria was also nominated for the Male Team of the Year Award, while the country’s women’s under-20 team was also nominated for the Women’s Team of the Year Award.
The CAF/Aiteo African footballer of the year award will take place on January 4, 2018.
