October 28, (THEWILL) – Renowned Super Falcons’ forward, Rasheedat Ajibade, has announced the launch of her eponymous foundation, dedicated to empowering and uplifting young girls and boys in Nigeria. The non-profit Rasheedat Ajibade Foundation aims to address challenges facing youths through mentorship, scholarships and support in sports, education and beyond.
“The Foundation is my commitment to giving back to my community and country”, Ajibade said in the statement announcing the unveiling. “Through sports, education and advocacy we can empower youth to achieve their dreams and create a brighter future.”
The Foundation has outlined key goals including promoting gender equality, developing sporting talent, supporting education and fostering partnerships within sports and development fields. Ajibade, who plays for Spanish Liga F club Atletico Madrid, will provide leadership training, advocacy and exposure opportunities to equip youth for excellence in sports and life.
Scholarships, school supplies and mentoring will enable girls’ academic and professional advancement. The Foundation therefore invited all who share its vision of empowerment to collaborate in this endeavour to positively impact girls and boys across Nigeria.
