March 11, (THEWILL) — Goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky’s nightmare UEFA Champions League debut played a decisive role in Tottenham Hotspur’s 5-2 first-leg defeat to Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano, leaving Igor Tudor’s side with a formidable deficit ahead of next week’s return fixture at home.
The Czech stopper’s torrid evening began in the sixth minute when a slip while attempting to clear gifted possession to Julian Alvarez, who set up Marcos Llorente to strike into the bottom-left corner. Substitute Dominic Solanke gave the scoreline a more respectable complexion 14 minutes from time, latching on to Porro’s pass after Oblak’s wayward clearance was intercepted, and drilling the ball in at the near post.
