BEVERLY HILLS, September 26, (THEWILL) – Former Delta governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, who is presently serving jail term in the United Kingdom over money laundering charge, will return home to his people before the end of the year, Chief Ighoyota Amori has said.
Speaking in Oghara on Sunday during the 50th birthday celebration of Mr Ben Igbakpa, a former Commissioner for Transport in the state, Amori said; “our leader, Chief James Onanefe Ibori will soon return to Oghara. Chief James Onanefe Ibori will spend this year Christmas with us here.”
While urging the people to remain steadfast in their prayers for the embattled former governor, he insisted that “his (Ibori’s) coming is as certain as death,” adding that “we will all gather to give him a wonderful reception here in Oghara”.
“And our lives will begin again once he returns back to the country,” Amori added.
While speaking with reporters, the celebrator, Igbakpa, who was a member of the State House of Assembly between 2007 and 2011, expressed gratitude to God for His good works in his life.
He also thanked Ibori and former governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan for carrying him along in the scheme of things and for giving him the opportunity to serve in the government of Delta State.
