BEVERLY HILLS, CA, November 16, (THEWILL) – The Interim Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, is literally under house arrest in Awka, the Anambra State capital.
He was allegedly restricted to his hotel, Petenal Hotel in Awka by men of the Department of State Security.
He is staying in the hotel where he will coordinate the monitoring of the gubernatorial election for his party’s candidate, Senator Chris Nwabueze Ngige.
Ngige who confirmed the development to newsmen, alleged that a team of SSS officers ordered him not to step out of the hotel premises.
The security officials on their part claimed that el-Rufai was only being protected and is not under house arrest.
