December 19, (THEWILL) – Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti established himself as the most successful manager in the club’s illustrious history following a commanding 3-0 victory over Pachuca in the Intercontinental Cup final at Qatar’s Lusail Stadium on Wednesday.
The triumph marked Ancelotti’s 15th trophy with Real Madrid, surpassing the previous record held by the late Miguel Munoz.
The Italian manager had equalled Munoz’s record in August 2024 when his side prevailed against Atalanta in the European Super Cup.
Speaking to Telecinco after the match, Ancelotti shared his enthusiasm, “There are so many of them (titles)! I’m delighted, really happy… it’s a success story. Today I liked the attitude of the players. Up front, they made the difference, Vinicius Jr had a great game. Offensively we did well.”
The 65-year-old’s distinguished career includes becoming the first manager to win league titles across Europe’s top five competitions – England, Spain, Germany, Italy, and France.
His Real Madrid tenure has been particularly fruitful, delivering two UEFA Champions League and La Liga doubles within three seasons.
