December 14, (THEWILL) – Milwaukee Bucks power forward, Giannis Antetokounmpo, etched his name in the franchise record books on Tuesday night, exploding for 64 points to lead his team to a 140-126 home victory over the visiting Indiana Pacers.
The Greek phenom surpassed Micheal Redd’s previous Bucks scoring record of 57 points, set back in 2006. Antetokounmpo terrorised Indiana all night, shooting 21-of-31 from the field while adding 14 rebounds in a dominant display. Guard Damian Lillard provided scoring support with 21 points and 6 assists.
For Indiana, guard Tyrese Haliburton led the scoring with 22 points while center Myles Turner also contributed 22 points and nine rebounds. However, it was not enough to counter Antetokounmpo’s record-breaking performance. Milwaukee have now won seven of their past 10 games to strengthen their position in the Eastern Conference standings.
In other NBA action, Joel Embiid scored 41 points as the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Detroit Pistons 129-111. Brooklyn Nets new signing, Mikal Bridges, impressed on debut against his former team, the Phoenix Suns, posting 21 points in a 116-112 road win.
Meanwhile, rookie forward, Tari Eason, recorded 25 points and 14 rebounds to help the Houston Rockets extend their home winning streak to 11 games with a 117-104 triumph over the Memphis Grizzlies.
