January 23, (THEWILL) – Giannis Antetokounmpo continued his MVP-calibre campaign with 31 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a 122-113 road win over the Detroit Pistons on Monday night.
The “Greek Freak” had another monster all-around performance in engineering Milwaukee’s high-powered offence, getting his teammates involved all game while also aggressively looking for his own shot. The Bucks shot nearly 54% from the floor overall.
While Detroit put up a valiant effort, led by rookie Jalen Duren’s 23 points, the Pistons simply did not have enough firepower to overcome the Bucks’ Antetokounmpo-led relentless attacks.
With their 11th victory in the past 13 contests, the Bucks maintained their position in second place in the East at 30-13, right on the heels of league-leading Boston. Milwaukee and emerging MVP favourite Antetokounmpo look poised to remain among the top candidates to represent the conference in the NBA Finals this June.
