APC Delegate Dies In Abuja

June 07, (THEWILL) – A delegate at the presidential primary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from Jigawa State, Isah Baba-Buji, slumped and died while having breakfast on Tuesday in Abuja.

The APC spokesperson in Jigawa, Bashir Kundu, who confirmed the incident, said the official slumped in the morning at the State Liaison Office at FCT, while getting ready to go to the venue of the convention

“Of course, he died this morning. He slumped at the Jigawa State Liaison Office in Abuja and he was rushed to hospital and died before arriving in the hospital. When we got to the hospital, he was confirmed dead,” said Kundu, adding his body was being prepared to be conveyed back to Jigawa State for burial.

THEWILL gathered that the deceased was conveyed to the hospital by the member of the House of Representatives representing Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal Constituency, Engr. Magaji Da’u Aliyu.

Until his sudden death, Buji was the APC vice chairman in charge of Jigawa South west.

The APC is holding its presidential primary in Abuja to elect its presidential candidate.

Three party delegates from each of the 774 local governments across Nigeria are eligible to vote in the primary.

A total of 23 presidential aspirants are taking part in the primary. Some of them include Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, ex-Lagos governor Bola Tinubu, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, and ex-Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi.
