BEVERLY HILLS, June 02, (THEWILL) – Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu has resigned as Secretary of the National Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, with barely three weeks to the event and has been replaced by Senator Victor Ndoma Egba, Chairman of the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC.

In his letter of resignation, Uwajumogu cited change of date of the convention as well as the demands of his job as a senator, and also to pacify the aggrieved governor of his state, Imo, Rochas Okorocha “ to allow the party progress as a united family.”

National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi said Saturday the party hierarchy had since accepted his resignation. He dismissed reports that Uwajumogu was forced to resign as a way of pacifying to Okorocha who had threatened to dump the ruling party should his request for a new Scribe be turned down.
