SAN FRANCISCO, October 23, (THEWILL) – The Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt Wednesday declared Comrade Tony Nwoye as the authentic candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Anambra governorship election scheduled for November.
The appellate court vacated an order of a Federal High Court which had ordered INEC and the PDP to recognize Mr. Nicholas Ukachukwu as the party’s candidate.
Three leading governorship aspirants of the PDP namely Senator Andy Ubah, Nwoye and Ukachukwu had filed separate lawsuits after the August 24, 2013 parallel primaries of the party claiming to be the party’s authentic candidate for the election.
