November 10, (THEWILL) – Arsenal’s hopes of continuing their strong start to the English Premier League season have been dealt a blow, with winger Bukayo Saka an injury doubt for Saturday’s clash against Burnley.

The 21-year-old limped off late in Arsenal’s 2-0 UEFA Champions League victory over Sevilla on Wednesday. Despite the injury, Saka was still named in Gareth Southgate’s England squad on Thursday, for the upcoming international break.

Manager Mikel Arteta admitted Saka is a doubt to face Burnley but remained positive. “Hopefully not,” he replied when answering questions on Saka being sidelined. “We want our players to play for their club and play for their national teams,” Arteta told reporters on Friday.

The Gunners have been hit by several injuries recently, with Takehiro Tomiyasu and Martin Odegaard both missing matches. “A few are still in contention. We need to give them 24 more hours to give them a chance to be involved in the game, but we won’t know anything until tomorrow,” Arteta said.

The Gunners sit fourth in the table, three points behind leaders Manchester City. Burnley have struggled this season and have just one league victory. However, Arteta understands the danger of underestimating the Clarets.
