June 12, (THEWILL) – Nottingham Forest forward, Taiwo Awoniyi, returned to his hometown of Ilorin, Kwara State, to host his “Never Stop Dreaming” tournament for the community.
The event took place at a local pitch and brought together young aspiring footballers from the residents, providing them with a valuable platform to exhibit their skills and pursue their dreams. The tournament garnered significant attention and was graced by the presence of Eintracht Braunschweig striker, Anthony Ujah, his agent, Maximilian Brommer, and other notable dignitaries.
Awoniyi, a prominent figure in the Super Eagles, revealed his heartfelt motivation for organising the tournament in an interview: “I’m just this guy that, I do not know how to put it, but all glory and honour goes to God, which is the most important thing.”
He continued: “But, the truth is, some of my friends used to say that ‘Taiwo, your life is like a script’. For me, personally, everything that happened today is things that I have said into existence before because those are my dreams, coming from nothing to something.”
