BEVERLY HILLS, CA, January 21, (THEWILL) – Alhaji Bamanga Tukur has been appointed Chairman of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) by President Goodluck Jonathan, a statement from the Office of Secretary to the Government of the Federation announced Tuesday.
Tukur, who last week was forced to resign as National Chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) replaces Alhaji Kawu Baraje, also a former Chairman of the PDP, who resigned as the corporation’s Chairman following the crisis rocking the PDP.
THEWILL recalls that President Jonathan had assured Tukur that he would be given “a more important assignment” following his resignation.
