November 29, (THEWILL) — Bayern Munich recovered from an early setback to defeat St. Pauli 3-1 at the Allianz Arena, with Luis Diaz scoring a dramatic 93rd-minute winner to extend their Bundesliga advantage to eight points.
The home side required late goals from Diaz and Nicolas Jackson to seal victory after Andreas Hountondji had given the visitors a shock lead.
The opening stages belonged to St. Pauli when Hountondji fired past Manuel Neuer at the near post after just six minutes, having been played through by Pereira Lage.
Vincent Kompany’s side responded with pressure, striking the woodwork twice through Lennart Karl and Tom Bischof, before Raphael Guerreiro restored parity on the stroke of half-time with a close-range finish following an improvised pass from Diaz.

Diaz finally found the breakthrough deep into added time, heading home from Joshua Kimmich’s cross to beat Nikola Vasili.
Jackson then capitalised on a swift counter-attack to slot past the goalkeeper and confirm all three points.
The result maintains Bayern’s commanding position at the summit following their midweek loss to Arsenal. St. Pauli, despite their determined performance, departed without reward.
