November 08, (THEWILL) — Bayern Munich’s winning start to the season ended at Union Berlin, where Harry Kane’s 93rd-minute header salvaged a 2-2 draw for Vincent Kompany’s side. The England forward connected with Tom Bishof’s cross deep into stoppage time to cancel out Danilho Doekhi’s second goal of the match.
Union Berlin took the lead just before the half-hour when Doekhi turned Janik Haberer’s cross goalwards, with Manuel Neuer failing to keep out the tame effort. Ilyas Ansah had earlier seen an early strike ruled out for offside after a swift video assistant referee check.
Luis Diaz levelled for the visitors when he kept Josip Stanisic’s pass in play before beating Frederik Ronnow from an unlikely angle. The Colombian later missed the target completely when played through one-on-one with the Union goalkeeper, whilst Kane had a goal disallowed for offside before half-time.
Bayern looked more threatening after the interval, with Michael Olise going closest when Ronnow denied his near-post attempt. Union appeared to have snatched victory when Doekhi slammed the ball past Neuer after Kane’s clearance from Josip Juranovic’s free-kick fell to the defender.
The Bayern striker made amends at the opposite end when he headed past Ronnow in the third minute of added time. The draw marked the first points dropped by Kompany’s team in the current campaign.
