February 18, (THEWILL) — The chairman of Benue State ward and local Government Congresses of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Alwalu Ishiyi, has appealed to members of the party in the state to maintain peace and orderliness in order to achieve success.
Fielding questions from newsmen after the distribution of electoral materials at the party headquarters in Makurdi on Wednesday, Dr Ishiyi stated that Benue is known for political activism and called on stakeholders to work for greater interest of APC in the state.
In his remarks, the Caretaker Committee chairman of APC in the state, Dr Benjamin Omale, acknowledged receipts of electoral materials from the national secretariat and distributed as require, saying party members have been sensitised on how to go about the exercise.
He commended the national leadership of the party and governor Hyacinth Alia for creating an enabling environment for a hitch-free exercise.
On his part, the State Organising Secretary of the party, Mr James Ornguga, noted that the screening of aspirants for various positions was successful, ready for election of ward and local Government executives in the state.
He charge party members to ensure a good conduct that will give credence to the party now and much more for other political parties to emulate.
