February 28, (THEWILL) – Benue state government is perfecting plans for establishment of snake bite centres, with one in each of the senatorial districts in the state.

Governor Samuel Ortom, who announced this during a reception in honour of Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Professor Joseph Ngbegha in Gboko, said this followed the take over of treatment of snake bite at Bishop Murray hospital, Makurdi, by Benue state government, which was formerly his private initiative.

Governor Ortom described Ngbegha as a man of high integrity and honour, noting that the success his administration had achieved in health institutions would not have been possible without the commissioner’s ingenuity.

According to him, the commissioner made other important interventions on behalf of the state government in addressing the health needs of the people, but at many occasions has been insulted and embarrassed, yet never relented.

He charged him not to relent in offering humanitarian services so that God will raise him to greater height than where he is at the moment.

In his remarks, the Secretary to Benue State Government, Professor Tony Ijohor (SAN), acknowledged the infrastructural development, which governor Ortom’s administration has put in Jemgbagh intermediate area or the state as well as numerous appointments of sons and daughters.

He assured governor Ortom of their unalloyed support for him to be voted into the Senate next year, after his tenure as governor.

Responding, Professor Ngbegha on behalf of his family thanked the governor for his solidarity and pledged loyalty and support to him and the administration.
