November 06, (THEWILL) – A man who claimed to be a Catholic Priest has been arrested by vigilant worshipers at Saint Simon Catholic Parish, Tsar Mbaduku, in the Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State.

In his confessional statement, the fake priest gave his name as Emmanuel Abur, from Mbatiav, Mbadim kindred from Gboko Local Government Area, where the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Hyacinth Aondoana Dajoh, hails from.

The fake priest stated that he used to buy ‘anointing oil’ from churches at the cost of N1,000 and sell it to worshipers at the rate of N15,000 per bottle.

‘Revd father’ Abur, explained that when his oil is applied on the body, even if one is stolen, he or she will not be caught by owners of such stolen property.

While displaying the one thousand Naira notes he sold the ‘anointed oil’, the said priest could not explain why he decided to leave his Mbadim community in Gboko to come and trade at Tsar Mbaduku in Vandeikya local Government area.

At the time of filing this report, community leaders were about to take him to the police post at Tsar Mbaduku to lodge a formal complaint against him.
