BEVERLY HILLS, CA, January 21, (THEWILL) –   The Borno State governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, has been warned to beware of fifth columnists and political jobbers who are out to cause confusion in the state.

The Special Adviser to the  governor  on Political Matters  , Alhaji Yusuf Adamu,  who gave this warning on Tuesday, also said  the lingering crisis between Shettima and former governor of the state, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, will do no one any good.

He warned that the fifth columnists are only out to reap from the emerging crisis between Sheriff and Shettima.

Referring to the recant by the chairman of the Modu Sherrif Campaign Office, Bako Buba Kolo,  on the recent  suicide bombing in Maiduguri, Yusuf, who was the secretary of All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) in Borno under the Modu Sheriff administration, said: ” It is with a great sense of patriotism and good conscience that I caution His Excellency, Governor Kashim Shettima to watch out and desists from associating with such very unreliable characters, and return to the path of glory by refusing to join issues with his benefactor. The wind it will generate will not do either party any good.

“I have offered several advises to my principal the Governor in private, just as I had called the attention of our leader and benefactor, Senator Sheriff, on why we should not allow fifth columnists and desperate politicians to cause a division in the government we all suffered to establish,” he said.

Disclosing that Kolo had confided  in him  to be the author of the controversial  statement he is now debunking, Yusuf said: “I am worried by the seeming drift and the looming danger posed by the altercations going on amongst our leaders  and wish to caution against allowing political jobbers to sow seeds of discord between the duos, ostensibly to upset the political apple cart.”
