Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Baba Shehu Gulumba, who disclosed this on Monday, said the deceased were killed both at Gulumba and T- Junction villages of his Local Government on two different days.
“Gunmen believed to be Boko Haram sect members attacked and killed 27 people in Gulumba and injuring 12 others when they came into the village at about 6 am . They set houses ablaze and shot at or slaughter anyone who came out.
“In the process, the Boko Haram burnt 300 houses, 20 shops , 204 livestock, 35 motorcycles, 15 cars , 250 sewing machines , 450 bags of cereal and cash estimated at N3.5 million, ” he told journalists in Maiduguri, the state capital, on Monday..
According to Gulumba, “13 persons were attacked and killed on Saturday at the T-Junction village “.
He lamented the effect of the attack, saying “People are now fleeing Gulumba; and if nothing is done fast to reassure the people of their security soon, the village will be a ghost village.”
The Local Government boss however implored the Federal Government to deploy more security men to boost security in Bama, saying Boko Haram attack on Bama is becoming worrisome..
