Boko Haram: Nigerian Army Gets Relief Materials From NEMA

BEVERLY HILLS, CA, November 11, (THEWILL) – The 233 Battalion of the Nigerian Army, Kukareta Barracks in Damaturu ,   the Yobe state capital ,has received   relief materials from the   National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to provide succour to the victims and survivors of the October 24 attacks in Damaturu  in which  the Nigerian Army  lost some of its men .

In a statement on Monday by its Northeast information officer, Mallam AbdulKadir Ibrahim, NEMA said it had presented relief materials to the 233 Battalion of the Nigerian Army,   in Damaturu in in fulfillment of the agency’s mandate of providing succour to victims of disasters in the country.

Ibrahim said  the materials were presented to the battalion during a sympathy visit by a team of NEMA officials led by the Zonal Coordinator , Alhaji Mohammed Kanar.

“NEMA has presented relief materials to the 233 Battalion of the Nigerian Army, Kukareta Barracks Damaturu which was affected by recent Boko Haram attacks.

“The materials were presented by the North East Coordinator,  Alhaji Mohammed Kanar who led a team of officials of the agency to Damaturu on sympathy visit,” Ibrahim said.

He listed the items presented to include  food items, mosquito nets, blankets, mats and tents.

The commander of the battalion,   Col. Aliyu Abdullahi, wo received the items  expressed gratitude to the agency for the presentation and promised to ensure judicious utilisation of the items.
