Two Air Force Fighter Jets Collide During Independence Day Rehearsal

BEVERLY HILLS, September 28, (THEWILL) – Two fighter jets belonging to the Nigerian Air Force collided during a flying exercise as part of the 58th Independence Day Anniversary, the Air Force said Friday. 

One plane was seen crashing and engulfed in flame around Mashafa Road in Area 1 of Mpape, Abuja following a collision.

NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola explained the incident in a statement.

“I wish to confirm an air incident involving 2 Nigerian Air Force aircraft taking part in the rehearsals for the 58th Independence Day Celebrations,” he said.
