SAN FRANCISCO, February 15, (THEWILL) – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed the public presentation/launching of its translated constitution earlier scheduled for Tuesday 16th February 2016.
This was revealed in a terse statement signed by the National Secretary, Mai Mala Buni who revealed that a new date for the launch will be announced in due course regretting the inconvenience caused by the postponement.
THEWILL recalls that the party’s constitution was translated into three major Nigerian languages (Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo) in honour of the party’s first highly respected interim National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande.
A statement by a spokesperson to the elder statesman, Mr. Israel Akande had disclosed that the translation which is modeled and structured after the original constitution was to further enable party faithful to understand the principles governing the party and other sundry issues.
“This is a move to spread the message of unity and solidarity among its members and also further preach the grassroots nature of the party. The event is expected to be attended by a majority of its members,” he had said.
The party has not given a reason for the postponement.
