Breaking: DSS Operatives Takeover National Assembly

SAN FRANCISCO, August 07, (THEWILL) – Operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS) have blocked all entry or exit from the National Assembly, Abuja.

The operatives are turning away cars of lawmakers and one of those that have been prevented from gaining entry into the National Assembly is Rafiu Ibrahim, a Senator representing Kwara south.

He was said to have asked the DSS officials “Has the military taken over?” But the operatives provided no response.

Currently, there is confusion and gridlock at the entrance of the country’s legislature.

THEWILL gathered that Ahmed Lawan, senate leader, and no fewer than 30 senators elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) met with Mamman Daura, Director-General of the DSS, in the wee hours of Tuesday.

THEWILL recalls that the National Assembly is currently on recess but Saraki and Dogara had fixed an emergency meeting for 12:00 noon on Tuesday at the National Assembly.

The leadership of the two chambers have come under intense pressure to reconvene the federal legislature over certain issues.
