SAN FRACISCO, January 16, (THEWILL) –  Tony Orilade, Acting Head, Media and Publicity of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has revealed that the anti-graft body will on Wednesday invite former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode for posting what turned out to be false information on his social media page.

Fani-Kayode had in a Facebook post said, “Why have the EFCC surrounded the home of CJN Onnoghen and why are they seeking to arrest him? These people want Nigeria to burn! Buhari call off your dogs before it is too late!”

However, the EFCC denied that it allegedly raided the residence of Chief justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen.

Also, Onnoghen dismissed reports that his home was raided by operatives of the anti-corruption agency.

Speaking in Abuja, on Wednesday, at the third edition of the New Media Conference by the Online Publishers Association of Nigeria (OPAN), Orilade insisted that the EFCC has the power under the CyberCrime law to invite Fani-Kayode.

The conference, which held at Sandralia Hotel, Jabi, Abuja, was sponsored by The Dickens Sanomi Foundation, Access Bank, Fidelity Bank and First Bank of Nigeria.
