BEVERLY HILLS, November 09, (THEWILL) – Republican Donald Trump will become the 45th president of the United States, U.S, after recording a historic victory over Hillary Clinton in the ultimate triumph for a campaign that repeatedly shattered the conventions of politics to pull off a remarkable upset.
Trump rode a wave of anger towards Washington’s political establishment to defeat Democrat Clinton, winning the swing states of Ohio, North Carolina and Florida. His winning coalition of largely white, working-class voters suggests a populace desperate for change and disillusioned with an entire generation of political leaders and the economic and political system itself.
The Democratic party nominee conceded in a telephone call put across to Trump in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The billionaire real estate magnate and former reality star was gracious toward Clinton and called for unity.
Speaking at a victory party in New York, he said, “Hillary fought very hard. She has worked very long & hard over a long period of time. We have a sense of gratitude for her service,” #Trump says in speech after victory.
“It is time for us to come together as one united people.
“I pledge that I will be president to all Americans. We will rebuild our infrastructure which will become by the way second to none and we will put many of our people to work as we rebuild it
“We must reclaim our country’s destiny.
“While we will always put America’s interest first, we will deal fairly with everyone.”
