BEVERLY HILLS, December 05, (THEWILL) – Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has withdrawn from the Delta South Senatorial race, according to sources familiar with the development.
THEWILL gathered that Uduaghan met with President Goodluck Jonathan, National Party Chairman, Dr Muazu and Senator James Manager, the senator representing the district, who Uduaghan has been locked in a fierce battle with for the seat. The meeting held a few hours ago inside the Presidential Villa.
The sources exclusively told THEWILL that Dr. Uduaghan will make his withdrawal public momentarily.
Senator Manager, an Ijaw like President Jonathan, who is seeking a fourth term at the Senate, has been positioned to become the majority leader of the next Senate, if the ruling PDP remains the majority party, the sources said.
