SAN FRANCISCO, October 20, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday sent a letter to the Senate, containing the names of 46 non-career ambassadorial nominees for the confirmation and approval of the Upper Chamber.
According to the letter read by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, during the day’s plenary, the nominees include: retired Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice George Oguntade – Lagos; former Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Mrs. Paulen Tallen – Plateau; former member of the House of Representatives, Usman Bugaje – Katsina, former Deputy Governor of Niger State, Ahmed Ibeto.
The President had in June sent the names of 47 ambassadorial nominees to the Senate to be screened and confirmed as career diplomats to head Nigeria’s missions abroad.
