Buhari Sympathises With Victims Of Kebbi Flood Disaster

BEVERLY HILLS, September 02, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed shock at the number of lives lost to the heavy floods that submerged thousands of hectares of farmlands and houses in the affected communities in Kebbi State.

The President in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said that Kebbi State is the focal point of his administration’s policy in locally produced rice. He expressed his sympathy with the famers and families of those bereaved.

According to the President, the news is coming at a time when farmers and other Nigerians are looking forward to a bumper harvest in order to reduce the current rise in the costs of food items.

He however, assured the State government of his support in order to bring relief to the victims of the ravaging flood.
