December 11, (THEWILL) — The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has introduced new mandatory requirements for all online Business Name update requests, aiming to improve monitoring and streamline the ease of doing business.

In a notice titled “Important Notice for Business Name Update” posted on its official X handle on Wednesday, December 10, the commission stated that, effective immediately, all online update requests must include the proprietor’s date of birth, registered office email, personal email, phone number for the registered address or proprietor if different, and a valid means of identification.

The CAC urged proprietors to provide these details to ensure smooth and timely processing of their update requests.

According to the commission, the additional requirements are necessary to enhance verification and prevent delays in updating business information online.
