April 18, (THEWILL) — Chelsea have committed Moises Caicedo to an extended long-term contract that will keep the Ecuadorian at Stamford Bridge until 2033.
The midfielder, who cost the club £115 million when he joined from Brighton and Hove Albion in August 2023, originally signed an eight-year agreement. The revised terms add a further two years, deepening his ties to West London. He has made 140 appearances for the Blues across all competitions, with eight goals and 11 assists to his name, and has collected two trophies during that period: the Conference League and the Club World Cup.
Caicedo spoke with conviction about his future at the club. “I believe in this team, this club, and I know we’re going in the right direction,” he told the club’s official website. “My dream is to become a Chelsea legend, and I will work as hard as possible to make that happen.”
His influence this season has been considerable. Since the start of the 2025 Club World Cup, only Enzo Fernández has accumulated more minutes among Chelsea outfield players. Caicedo has led the squad in passes with 2,963, touches with 3,589, tackles with 135, successful tackles with 73, and interceptions with 70.
Chelsea face Manchester United in the English Premier League on Saturday, with the club currently sixth in the standings and four points behind fifth-placed Liverpool in the race for a UEFA Champions League spot.
