BEVERLY HILLS, July 07, (THEWILL) – The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has dismissed the call for a restructuring of the federation as a mere political deceit, urging Nigerians to ignore the proponents.
While identifying those behind the agitation for the country’s break-up and restructuring as real enemies of Nigeria, he urged the people to look out for sincere leaders who believe in the unity and oneness of the country and throw their support behind them.
According to a statement issued on Thursday, the governor stated this in Lokoja, the state capital, during a meeting with leaders of the organised labour.
Stressing that Nigeria “under President Muhammad Buhari is on the path of restoring its lost glory”, he urged the people to support the government by being patriotic and peaceful.
Bello enjoined Nigerians to support the Federal Government’s resolve to right the wrongs of the past, saying that Buhari had since assumption of office made practical efforts to unite every segment of the country.
His words, “Every country has its unique challenges, but is making effort to overcome these challenges collectively irrespective of its cultural, religious or political differences.”
“Nigeria is a blessed country with the prospect of a great nation”, Bello said, adding that Nigeria would benefit more as a united nation when their people live and work together.
