Children’s Day: FG Vows To End Violence Against Children

SAN FRANCISCO, May 27, (THEWILL) – The Federal Government has vowed to end all form of violence against children just declaring that every Nigerian child would be protected.

This was declared by the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, as the Federal Government, on Saturday, launched the ‘End Violence Against Children’ campaign at the Eagle Square Abuja, in commemoration of the 2017 Children’s Day celebration.

Represented by the Minister for Women Affairs and Social Development, Senator Aisha Alhassan, Osinbajo explained that the campaign was launched to signal a nation where all children were  free from all forms of violence.

He declared that the objective of the plan to end violence against children was to adopt policies and laws that prevent and respond to violence and to enhance and scale up efforts towards attaining the objectives.

In his remarks at the event, the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, Represented by the FCT Permanent Secretary, Dr. Babatope Ajakaiye, promised that the FCT Administration was going to ensure that whoever perpetrates violence against children was brought to book.
