July 30, (THEWILL) — The Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Movement Church Worldwide has announced the death of its Supreme Head and Spiritual Father, His Most Eminence Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Adewale Abiodun Alogbo, bringing to a close the remarkable ministry of one of Nigeria’s most influential indigenous Christian leaders.
THEWILL reports that Prophet Alogbo, who also served as the Supreme Head of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria and Chairman of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide (Ayo Ni O), died peacefully in the early hours of Thursday at the age of 93.
According to the church, the revered cleric passed away at about 2:10 a.m. at his residence in Ijaiye Ojokoro, Lagos, surrounded by members of his family and domestic staff.
His passing was announced in a circular dated July 30, 2026, and signed by the Secretary-General of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Senior Special Apostle Prophet Anthony Olusesan Samaye.
The circular was addressed to members of the church’s management committee, district chairmen, conference supervisors, mission directors, church elders, zonal secretaries, and ministers-in-charge of parishes across Nigeria and the diaspora.
Announcing the death, the church expressed gratitude to God for what it described as a life of exceptional service and unwavering commitment to the Christian faith.
The statement read in part:
“With gratitude to God Almighty for a life well spent, on behalf of the Board of Trustees and the entire church, I write to inform you all that our Spiritual Father, His Most Eminence, Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Adewale Abiodun Alogbo, was called to glory in the early hours of today, July 30, 2026, at around 2:10 a.m.
“He was surrounded by his family members and all his domestic staff while he passed on to glory peacefully at his residence.”
The church subsequently declared a seven-day prayer programme in honour of the late cleric.
According to the circular, daily prayer sessions will commence at 5:00 p.m. at his residence, located at Plot 1, Alogbo Close, off Ahmadiyya Bus Stop, Ijaiye Ojokoro, Lagos.
It added that details of the funeral and burial arrangements would be announced by the church leadership at a later date.
“May his soul rest in perfect peace and may God grant the church the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. Amen,” the statement added.
A Legacy of Spiritual Leadership
Until his death, Prophet Alogbo occupied the highest spiritual office within the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria while serving as Spiritual Father and Chairman of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide (Ayo Ni O), one of the largest and most influential branches of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church.
Over the course of his ministry, he was widely respected for his commitment to evangelism, church administration, doctrinal stability, and the promotion of unity within the Cherubim and Seraphim family.
Under his leadership, the church strengthened its organisational structures and expanded its spiritual outreach across Nigeria and several countries where the denomination has established branches.
His death is expected to draw tributes from religious leaders, government officials, and millions of worshippers who regarded him as a symbol of humility, spiritual discipline, and unwavering devotion to Christian service.
Founded in 1925, the Cherubim and Seraphim Church is among Nigeria’s oldest indigenous Christian movements and has grown into a global denomination with branches across Africa, Europe, North America, and other parts of the world.
Prophet Emmanuel Adewale Abiodun Alogbo was one of the church’s longest-serving spiritual leaders and played a pivotal role in preserving its traditions while fostering unity among various C&S congregations.
His passing marks the end of a significant chapter in the history of the movement, with attention now expected to shift to succession plans and preparations for his final rites.
