November 12, (THEWILL) – In a London thriller against Leeds United on Saturday, Tottenham Hotspur came from behind thrice to win 4-3 with two goals from Rodrigo Bentancur in the closing 10 minutes of the tie.
When Crysencio Summerville opened the scoring for the fourth consecutive English Premier League game inside the first 10 minutes, Spurs continued an unenviable record of conceding the game’s first goal for the eighth time in a row.
In the 76th minute, after Harry Kane and Ben Davies both scored goals to tie the score, Rodrigo Moreno extended Leeds’ lead to 3-2 by scoring either side of the Spurs’ second goal.
However, Bentancur’s equaliser in the 81st minute kept the game alive before he gave Tottenham a thrilling victory two minutes later as Leeds collapsed in north London with Tyler Adams dismissed late in the game.
Both teams are now taking a pause as Qatar 2022’s events play out. Just after Christmas, Tottenham will play their next match against London rival Brentford, while Leeds will resume their Premier League season by hosting league leaders Manchester City.
