November 04, (THEWILL) — The Department of State Services (DSS) has dismissed 115 personnel as part of its ongoing internal reforms aimed at strengthening discipline, professionalism, and integrity within the agency.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Service cautioned Nigerians against dealing with some of the dismissed officers who, despite being sacked, have continued to impersonate DSS operatives to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
Reiterating its earlier disclaimer on Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, the DSS clarified that both individuals are no longer in its employment and should not be recognised or trusted as representatives of the Service.
The agency warned the public to refrain from engaging in any administrative or security-related dealings with the affected individuals, stressing that anyone who does so does it at their own risk.
For transparency, the DSS said it has published the names and details of the dismissed officers on its official website — www.dss.gov.ng — to enable public verification.
The Service noted that the dismissals reflect its commitment to internal accountability and its determination to rid the organisation of elements whose conduct undermines national security and erodes public confidence.
Citizens were also urged to report suspicious individuals or activities linked to fake DSS operatives.
